Barrel of a Gun är en låt av den brittiska gruppen Depeche Mode. Det är gruppens trettioförsta singel och den första från albumet Ultra. Singeln släpptes den 3 februari 1997 och nådde som bäst 4:e plats på den brittiska singellistan.[1]

"Barrel of a Gun" släpptes efter det att bandet upplevt en påfrestande tid. Alan Wilder hade lämnat gruppen i juni 1995. Året därpå drabbades Dave Gahan av hjärtstillestånd i två minuter efter att ha överdoserat med en speedball.[2]

B-sidans låt är den industrial-inspirerade "Painkiller". En kortare version återfinns som dolt spår på Ultra.

Musikvideon till "Barrel of a Gun" regisserades av Anton Corbijn.
