Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell är en spelserie med stealthactionspel utgiven av Ubisoft.[2] Spelen kretsar vanligtvis kring den fiktive agenten Sam Fisher och bygger på att spelaren undviker upptäckt genom att utnyttja ljus, skuggor och tyst framryckning snarare än att skjuta sig fram.[2][1]

Serien betonar smygande och informationsinhämtning, ofta med uppdrag där spelaren belönas för att undvika larm och arbeta metodiskt i mörka miljöer.[2]

Försäljning
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Ubisoft har i sin årsrapport (2009) uppgett att Splinter Cell-varumärket hade sålt totalt 19 miljoner exemplar (”since 2002”).[4] I ett senare faktablad från Ubisoft (uppdaterat 02/2016) anges 31 miljoner sålda exemplar för serien.[5]
Övriga medier
[redigera | redigera wikitext]En animerad serie baserad på Splinter Cell med titeln Splinter Cell: Deathwatch hade premiär på Netflix den 14 oktober 2025.[6][7]
Framtid
[redigera | redigera wikitext]I december 2021 meddelade Ubisoft att en ny version (remake) av det första spelet är under utveckling hos Ubisoft Toronto.[3]
