Världsmästerskapet i innebandy för herrar 1996 spelades i Sverige under perioden 11 - 18 maj 1996 och var tidernas första världsmästerskap i innebandy. 12 lag deltog. A-gruppen spelades i Skellefteå, B-gruppen i Uppsala och slutrundan i Globen i Stockholm.
Sverige vann VM-finalen över Finland med 5-0 inför 15 106 åskådare.[1] Det står sig fortfarande som den högsta publiksiffran i en VM-match i innebandy. Norge vann bronset efter seger mot Tjeckien med 6-2.
