I captured these images on June 18. I found this beautiful butterfly on the asp trunk near ground. I think that this moth was really fresh, because I found his exuviae on the ground. This moth is pretty rare in Lithuania and one of the most beautiful moths here. Special defense of this moth are its colors, when you see it in flight you can think that it is very dangerous Hornet, like Vespa crabro which can kill human. That day was realy lucky for me, because I found another Hornet Moth called Welsh Clearwing - Synanthedon scoliaeformis on the birch, which I saw first time... I would upload its photos some time later.
