AC/PHYLLA HECTORL Buchanan,. n.s. J.B. del.et Ink. Buchanan.—On the Alpine Flora of New Zealand. 347 Lobelia rougJiii, Hook. f.A small glabrous alpiue plant, full of white acrid fluid. Leaves ^-1inch long, petioled, ovate or obovate, acute, deeply toothed or lobed, thesinus often round, more or less reticulated on 5-7 leading nerves, coria-ceous. Peduncles erect, axillary, 1-1 i inches long, growing out as the fruitripens, 1-flowered, calyx tube globose, lobes linear, obtuse, coriaceous.Corolla 5-partite, but by the fi-equent union of three lobes, 3-partite, lobeslong, very narrow, round at top. Anthers glabrous, united round the styleand supported by the filaments. Capsule ovoid, ^-^ inch long. Hab.—Lake Ohou Mountains; alt., 5,000 feet on loose shingle.—Buchanan and McKay, 1882. Plate XXVIIL, fig. 1, plant nat. size; 1 a, capsule with adherentanthers; 1 b, b, b, lobes of corolla, 1- and 3-partite; 1 c, anther.
