Chromocyphella muscicola är en svampart[7] som först beskrevs av Elias Fries, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Donk 1959. Enligt Catalogue of Life[8][9] ingår Chromocyphella muscicola i släktet Chromocyphella, och familjen Inocybaceae,[8][9] men enligt Dyntaxa[10] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Chromocyphella, och familjen Chromocyphellaceae.[10] Artens status i Sverige är: Osäker förekomst.[10] Inga underarter finns listade.[8]
