Vickerbackmätare ingår i släktet backmätare, Scotopteryx, och familjen mätare, Geometridae.^[1]^[2]^[3] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.^[1] En underart finns listad i Catalogue of Life,^[2] Scotopteryx chenopodiata siberica Bang-Haas, 1907.
