Mindre stråfly,[1] Denticucullus pygmina,[1] är en fjärilsart som först beskrevs av Adrian Hardy Haworth 1809. Enligt Dyntaxa[1] ingår mindre stråfly i släktet Denticucullus men enligt Catalogue of Life[3] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Photedes. Enligt båda källorna tillhör arten familjen nattflyn, Noctuidae.[1][3][2] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[1] En underart finns listad i Catalogue of Life,[3] Photedes pygmina libyodes Boursin, 1963.
