Hedsotmal (Lypusa maurella)[1] är en fjärilsart som beskrevs av Michael Denis och Ignaz Schiffermüller 1776. Hedsotmal ingår i släktet Lypusa.[2][1][3] Enligt Dyntaxa[2] ingår Lypusa i familjen tubmalar, Lypusidae, men enligt Catalogue of Life[1] är tillhörigheten istället familjen säckspinnare, (Psychidae). Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[2] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[1]
