Platystele microtatantha[1] är en orkidéart som först beskrevs av Rudolf Schlechter, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Leslie Andrew Garay. Platystele microtatantha ingår i släktet Platystele och familjen orkidéer.[2][3]
Artens utbredningsområde är Costa Rica.[2] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[2]
