Sottornuggla (Tyto tenebricosa) är en fågel i familjen tornugglor inom ordningen ugglor.[2] IUCN kategoriserar arten som livskraftig.[1]
Sottornuggla delas in i tre underarter:[2]
- tenebricosa/arfaki-gruppen
- Tyto tenebricosa arfaki - förekommer på Nya Guinea och ön Yapen
- Tyto tenebricosa tenebricosa - förekommer i kustnära östra Australien (centrala Queensland till södra Victoria)
- Tyto tenebricosa multipunctata - förekommer i regnskogar i nordöstra Australien (nordöstra Queensland)
