Merthyr Tydfil (walesiska: Merthyr Tudful) är en kommun i Storbritannien. Den ligger i riksdelen Wales, i den södra delen av landet, 220 km väster om huvudstaden London. Kommunen har 58 883 invånare (2022)[2]. Distriktet upprättades den 1 april 1974 genom att county borough Merthyr Tydfil, del av stadsdistriktet Gelligaer slogs ihop med del av landsdistriktet Vaynor and Penderyn.[3] År 1996 ombildades det till kommun.[4]
