Octopus australis[1][2][3][4] är en bläckfiskart som beskrevs av William Evans Hoyle 1885. Octopus australis ingår i släktet Octopus och familjen Octopodidae.[5][6] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[5]
