Podosphaera helianthemi är en svampart[2] som först beskrevs av L. Junell, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av U. Braun & S. Takam. 2000. Podosphaera helianthemi ingår i släktet Podosphaera och familjen Erysiphaceae.[3][4] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[3]
I den svenska databasen Dyntaxa[5] används istället namnet Sphaerotheca helianthemi för samma taxon. Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[5]
