Mesochaetopterus japonicus[1][2] är en ringmaskart som beskrevs av Yoshihisa Fujiwara 1934. Mesochaetopterus japonicus ingår i släktet Mesochaetopterus och familjen Chaetopteridae.[3][4] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[3]
