Cryptolestes ferrugineus[5][6][1][3] är en skalbaggsart som först beskrevs av Stephens 1831. Cryptolestes ferrugineus ingår i släktet Cryptolestes och familjen ritsplattbaggar.[7][8][9] Enligt den finländska rödlistan[10] är arten nära hotad i Finland. Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[9] Artens livsmiljö är parker, gårdsplaner och trädgårdar.[10] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[7]
