Loligo media[1][8][9] är en bläckfiskart som först beskrevs av Carl von Linné 1758. I den svenska databasen Dyntaxa[6] används istället namnet Alloteuthis media. Enligt Catalogue of Life[10][11] ingår Loligo media i släktet Loligo och familjen kalmarer,[10][11] men enligt Dyntaxa[6] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Alloteuthis och familjen kalmarer.[6] Det är osäkert om arten förekommer i Sverige.[6] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[10]
