Platystethus arenarius[1][2] är en skalbaggsart som först beskrevs av Geoffroy 1785. Platystethus arenarius ingår i släktet Platystethus och familjen kortvingar.[3][4][5] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[5] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[3]
